DRAW A CIRCLE
Welcome to Monday with a Mission
Last week I talked about how, as we breathe, we should be praying. It should be that consistent, and that comfortable.
How do we do that?
Here is one way to get that started…
HULA HOOP
Gypsy Smith, an evangelist from the late 1800’s early 1900’s was once asked how to start a revival.
He answered: “Go home, lock yourself in your room, kneel in the middle of your floor. Draw a chalk mark all around yourself and ask God to start the revival inside that chalk mark. When He has answered your prayer, the revival will be on.”
So, I use a hula hoop. I use it as a reminder and a repentance tool. I stand inside the circle on the floor created by the hula hoop and many times use the armor of God prayer that is in included in the cards which are in the Prayer Pocket.
Father, I ask that you dress me spiritually for this day.
I put on the BELT OF TRUTH claiming who I am because You live within me, and the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS that I may be controlled by Your Spirit, and not my own self. Then I will SHOD MY FEET with peace that I may be an instrument of Your peace.
I take the SHIELD OF FAITH because I know without faith it is impossible to please you. Help me trust in You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding but in all ways acknowledge You, knowing that You will make straight my path. I will put on the HELMET OF SALVATION so you will control my mind, my thoughts, and my words.
I will take up the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT which is Your Word. May I hide it in my heart that I may not sin against Thee, that I would use Your Word to defeat Satan and use it to witness for You in every way possible. Now I thank you for dressing me spiritually so that I may be ready to face the battle for today. In Jesus Name I go.
The revival will start when “I” have come before God, repented, asked for forgiveness and guidance AND then be obedient!
GOD’S VESSEL
Once you become comfortable with your prayer life you will find yourself wanting to expand it.
I promise, you will move into areas that are out of your comfort zone.
WHY?
Because prayer is God’s way to communicate not only with you but through you.
You will be a vessel of God that can pour out comfort, love, guidance to others.
The Conversation
Please add me to your list. I would love to receive the emails from you.
God bless you and your ministry
Sandy
Oh Thank you Sandy! So good to know you have enjoyed them.
Bobbie, I appreciate all of your posts and am sorry when I’m unable to comment on each one personally. Your words do not fall on deaf ears. I had never heard of Gypsy Smith’s comment about revival – how apropos, as is the hula hoop prayer guide. Thank you!
Gypsy Smith’s story is so good. I am very honored to have you read my posts. I am the same. I read such good blogs and then don’t comment. I look forward to yours each week. Maybe I will try to start a new habit and leave a quick comment on each. I know how much it means to me, but I also know that God puts His words in front of who He desires to read them. Blessings to you!
