WHAT IS IN YOUR WAY OF TALKING ABOUT JESUS?

Welcome to Monday With a Mission

Are you facing a road block as you journey to share Christ?

Road blocks can be ones we see, like the one in the picture above, or they can be ones that may control our mind and make us want to hide, like the one below.

We may feel like running when someone asks us about Jesus or we have the opportunity to tell someone about Jesus. What do we say?

Our prayer life is like a stepping stone or a path way to telling others about Jesus. Relationships with anyone demands communication to survive and thrive. As we spend time with God our hearts are opened to how we can spread the Gospel, and how God will use us.

Mountains of turmoil make us find our way through paths which can have pot holes, or even obstacles that cause us to wind through “junk”, our junk.

We must persevere!

Using a Prayer Pocket along with Scripture can be a path to create a prayer life that is like breathing.

Martin Luther said – “.“To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.”

The Prayer Pockets are tools you can use to help bring your relationship with Jesus Christ to an intimate, consistent, passionate, and powerful one. As you grow in that relationship you will find the desire to share more and to go to the Word to find answers to help grow your knowledge of Christ.

But you must first grow that relationship.

Think about a time when negative stuff got in the way, but you persevered and was blessed by the outcome.

Here is one of my preserve stories.

I enjoy my morning coffee. I look forward to the making of it, the smell of it, waiting for it to brew, and then carrying it in to where I spend my morning time with God.

Several years ago, 2017, my husband had a conference in West Virginia at the beautiful Greenbrier Resort.

I woke in the morning to have my coffee and realized there were no coffee makers in the room. WHAT!  I was shocked and confused.

How could that be? So I read the information and found out the coffee is served in the lobby.

Well, that meant I would have to look presentable.  So, I tried to quietly get ready as my husband doesn’t share the same “love” for coffee that I do.

Downstairs to the lobby I went. The hostess, Teresa, (I always try and read name tags and call the person by there name) was serving us coffee or tea in china cups.

Her smile was contagious, but I could tell there was a sadness in her heart. I stayed close by and when it was just us I asked her if I could pray for her. She stopped, tears rolled down her cheeks, and she said, “Please”. She explained her mother had recently passed away and she was sad.

We prayed, we chatted, I brought her a prayer pocket.

Four years later the conference was at the same resort. Guess what? They did have coffee makers in the rooms, but they stilled served coffee and tea in the lobby. I was prepared and went to the lobby and, yes, Teresa still worked there!

We knew each other immediately.  It was a joyous reunion. We prayed, we chatted more, we drank coffee.

So the negative obstacle in my path that morning in 2017 was the beginning of a friendship with Teresa and the understanding of how I broke that road blocks and stepped up.

I allowed the Holy Spirit to lead me and then was obedient.

God will use you also, you just have to be willing. Even through the road blocks, obstacles, pot holes and no coffee pots.

Thank You, Jesus for using the obstacles to grow our relationship with you and to learn to spread the Gospel. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

It is amazing howGod works even when we don’t have a clue He is until that just right moment appears right in front of us. Bobbie (my wife)and I have to be ready whenever or wherever to have the opportunity to share about our Savior, Jesus Christ. Many times over the years we have missed those opportunities. I now pray daily not to miss those opportunities.
