HOW BROKENNESS CAN DRIVE YOU

What??? You ask?

HOW CAN OUR BROKENNESS DRIVE US?

Isaiah 61:1-2

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has chosen me. He has commissioned me to encourage the poor, to help the brokenhearted, to decree the release of captives and the freeing of prisoners, to announce the year when the Lord will show his favor, the day when our God will seek vengeance, to console all who mourn,”

PAIN OF THE WORLD                                                                                                                                              As we walk a path of distress, sadness, anger, frustration and hurt we often want to put it all behind us when it is over. We have been broken by the pain of the world and relationships so why do we not want to get rid of it all? To forget it? To leave it behind?

WALK THROUGH THE FIRE                                                                                                                              WHY?  Because, when we find ourselves walking through the fire of these trials God’s Word tells us…

  1.  We are to bring good news to the afflicted.
  2.  We are to accept that God has sent us to bind up the brokenhearted.
  3.  We are to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners.
  4.  We are to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God
  5.  We are to comfort ALL who mourn.

God is calling us to these five purposes that are laid out in Isaiah.

Don’t find yourself wasting the lesson God has pulled you through. Be that shoulder, the listening ear or the  comforting hug to the person who needs to hear someone else has survived what they have.

BRING THE GOOD NEWS                                                                                                                                 How can we “bring the good news to the afflicted that God has sent us to so we can set them free and proclaim God is God and then give them comfort”?

We can BE REAL – don’t be afraid to share our weaknesses.

Real connections are forged through shared weakness. It is easy to impress people with out strengths, but real connections are forged through shared weakness. Our job is to connect people to a Savior who can be their answer! We must be driven by our brokenness.

We can BE TRANSPARENT – it may be hard, in fact uncomfortable, but necessary.

We may impress people with what we can do, but we connect in our common struggles! We all have struggles…When you began to be transparent you will find out others who have the same struggles.

AND – BE READY – Ask God each day to USE YOU.

For what ever comes your way! Here I am God, use me.

Our brokenness can certainly drive us.

As God uses you to witness, minister, and love on those who may not know Him you may find yourself walking through the fire of being broken again so you can help mend a lost soul.
