REPENTANCE
Welcome to Mondays with a Mission
Have you ever made your way through a maze, or tried to?
Maybe you ran into several dead ends. Or took a wrong turn.
Maybe you made it through without having to turn around.
A maze reminds me of repentance.
You stepped into sin, like you did the maze – by your own decision or you had some part in it.
The Holy Spirit nudges you, telling you which way to turn, where to stop, when to go the other way.
But do you follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, or do you push Him aside and try to decide for yourself which way to go?
How many dead ends do you run into?
How many wrong turns will you take before you put down the desires of this world and allow God to guide you through the pit falls, pull you over the mountain tops, push you across the mud flats even hold you up when you feel as if you are drowning?
Christian repentance involves each of us being convicted of sin.
Then showing remorse over the offense to God.
As we turn away from sin, in other words, making a complete 180 degree turn, we must then turn towards a God-honoring way of life.
When you find yourself in a maze of confusion over sin call on God and His Word.
Acts 3:19-20
“Therefore, repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and so that he may send the Messiah appointed for you—that is, Jesus.”
We have all learned the saying -STOP – DROP – ROLL- when it comes to fire.
The fire of sin can burn our lives, so lets change that saying to
STOP – DROP – PRAY – pray for the wisdom, discernment we need to, not only ask for forgiveness, but to repent, to turn away from the sin and walk away from it.
Thank You Jesus for giving us the Holy Spirit that guides us to walk closer to You. Help us to stay out of the maze of the world. In Jesus Name. Amen
