SEARCH – To search for God in everything we do.

God is in control.

That is a blessing that sometimes we don’t realize until after we have passed through a trial.

The trial can break us, but just like going through the fires of life we are purified by God and travel the journey that He has planned for us.

Sometimes we find ourselves fighting that plan, that journey, that path, God has planned for us.

When Prayer Pocket Ministry was founded we realized that one of the best ways to SEARCH for God is through prayer.

Last week we talked about motivation and being motivated to pray.

Today we will talk about the cards in the prayer pocket.

The first card is ACKNOWLEDGE…PRAISE…THANKSGIVING – Prayers of Praise

Scripture on the front and prayer points on the back of the card – four points that you can use to guide your prayer time. Make them personal to you.

The first prayer point is a verse from Isaiah 48:17 “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you how to succeed, who leads you in the way you should go.”

You can make this person to what is going on in your life right now. Not only succeeding in your life right now, your career, your job, your job search; but your family. How do I succeed in the life God has planned for me, how do I honor God I all I do? Help me succeed.

The second card is BREAK MY HEART…SEARCH MY HEART…USE MY HEART – Prayers for my Personal Life

The first prayer point is – Pray for the Lord to break my heart because of moral and spiritual decline.

This is not only in the world around us, but ourselves. Ask for forgiveness.

We can find it easy to justifying and accepting things in the world that are not Biblically sound.

That doesn’t mean that we have to discard those things, but pray.

We need to be open to pray for everyone, God loves everyone.

It grieves God’s heart when we sin.

Someone may not be walking the path God has chosen for them, but He wants them to be one of His children.

One of the ways we can help is to pray. Call them by name!

Pray that their soul will be filled with Jesus, their heart will be turned from stone to flesh, someone will be in their path to lead them to Christ.

We might be that seed, someone else may water, someone else may fertilize, someone else comes along and does some weeding, and then God can harvest!

The third card is ARISE…AWAKEN…STRENGTHEN – Prayer for my Church

All of my cards I have names, notes etc written on them. For this card I have my pastor’s name, and all the people associated with the church that help to bring our services to us.

One of the prayer points is to pray for the church to arise and unite.  Personalize each one of these.

The fourth card is PREPARE…SURRENDER…TRUST – Prayer for Salvation

I have the names of those I know I want to come to know Christ. I write their names on the card and I call out their names each morning.

I also use this card for intercession – I stand in the gap for many who have asked me for prayer, either on social media, through text, or phone call. Each month I write their name down and the situation. I call their name out. I have a card, or two, or three, for each month.

The last card in this group of cards is RISE…REFRESH…REVITALIZE – Pray for America and spiritual awaking

On the Prayer Pocket Ministry Facebook page we are spending this entire year praying for our nation. Every day is a different prayer. I invite you to follow the page, read the prayers daily and share them with others.

Our nation needs to come back to ONE NATION UNDER GOD.

When you read the prayer points, again, make it personal. No matter who you voted for, who you would like to be leading our country, we need to pray for our President, for those leading our nation.

The last card is a prayer of PUTTING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD – As I start my day I pray this – I put on the armor to prepare myself for what the world has for me.

The very last sentence is “Now I thank You for dressing me spiritually that I may be ready to face the battle for today.”

I don’t know what that battle is, but You do God, so guide my path, protect me, give me the wisdom, knowledge, and discernment I need to get through the day.

So, that is the first group of cards that Prayer Pocket Ministry created.

We created another set that my be more useful for those who are new believers or those who have not had a consistent prayer life. Something to give more guidance, more structure, more prayer points.

I will share those with you next week.
